Planned Parenthood is Under Attack

Some of our legislators in the Pennsylvania Senate have decided that they, too, would like to score some political points at the expense of Pennsylvania women, and they are moving fast to impose event greater restrictions on access to abortion. There may be two critical votes on women’s health in early June and it is crucial that we make our voices heard before then!

In its original form, Senate Bill 732 would protect women’s health and allow providers to continue delivering safe, quality care. The Mensch amendment to SB 732 would impose ambulatory surgical facility regulations on free-standing providers who provide abortions after 9 weeks. This could cause the cost of a procedure to skyrocket and could even force providers to close their doors.

Also, being considered is a bill, Senate Bill 3, that would prohibit any insurance company participating in the state health care exchange under Health Care Reform from providing coverage for abortion services except in cases of death and rape or incest.

How you can help right now!

Please call your State Senator and tell them not to play politics with women’s health and to:

· Oppose the Mensch Amendment to Senate Bill 732 BUT Support the Passage of Senate Bill 732 as it is.

· Oppose Senate Bill 3 BUT Support amendments that uphold federal law and protect women’s health.
